David's essay "Turning Japanese" is turned into a short audio piece by Fresh Air's Jonathan Menjivar for the Third Coast International Audio Festival, (the piece is # 54, titled "Want Some Sushi?")
GIRLS FOR BREAKFAST was selected for inclusion on the New York Public Library Books for the Teen Age 2006 List.

Reading Rants 2005 Top Ten Books for Teens.
David will participate on an author panel with writers Justina Chen Headley, Jenny Han, and Grace Lin, sponsored by the Asian American Writer's Workshop, on May 4, 2006.

David will be the featured slAAm! (Sampling Literature by Asian Americans) Book Club author at the University of Connecticut this fall, sponsored by The Asian American Cultural Center and the Women's Studies Program at UConn. He will give a university-wide talk on Girls For Breakfast followed by a Q&A session and book signing.
David discussed his novel with members of "Katie's Club" at Avon High School on June 6, 2005.

Girls For Breakfast has been chosen for the Summer 2005 Booksense Picks List for teens.
The anthology Guys Write For Guys Read hits bookstores April 21, 2005. Proceeds support the Guys Read program. The anthology features pieces by Stephen King, Matt Groening, Daniel Handler, Jon Scieszka, Ned Vizzini, and many others.
The journal Rush Hour, volume 3 (Face), is in bookstores now. The excerpt featured on Amazon is the first 2 pages of David's essay, "Turning Japanese."
